Like a summer morning sunrise the promise of a fresh start, a new calendar presses us to keep moving. The early weeks of our New Year vanish. We write Chapter 2019 of the Story, ready or not. What will it take to write the Story you want to tell? What will it take to achieve your full potential? What will it take for your team or organization to maximize this…
Who Are Your Heroes?
“Steve, your phone is ringing,” I heard Rita say jolting me awake. A quick glance at the clock was not reassuring.
“Son, your mother fell, I need your help,” Dad spoke quietly. It was 1:05 AM.
We headed across town to the retirement village where my parents have an “independent living” apartment. It was an easy drive except for the flood of questions that hit me.
As we pulled in…
Where Do You Need to Move?
In my previous article, “Where Has Fear Got You?” I shared the story behind the re-launch of this blog, The People Project. For 18 months my writing was focused on my new book, LEADERS CREATE SPACE. Emily Harrington is a professional rock climber and adventurer who has been…

Kite Lake beckoned us on Thursday morning. We headed north out of FairPlay, Colorado. U.S. Highway 285 towards Breckenridge. Then we turned west out of Alma onto Buckskin Gulch Road.
The first 3 miles was gravel. From Paris Mill to Kite Lake was 3 miles of “unimproved road.” Good thing we’d gotten that Jeep upgrade.
A couple of miles short we stopped. These mountain road ruts were deep. I…
